Overview

Markoding supported by Cle de Peau Beaute and UNICEF will conduct a 9-month skills development programme for adolescent girls (aged 12-18 years old) with focus to the most disadvantaged, to ensure that they are empowered with skills to fulfil their potential through increased access to high quality learning opportunities. The adolescent girls will be equipped with 21st century skills, digital skills, and entrepreneurial skills to help them identify the gender-related issues that matter to them and co-develop digital solutions to tackle those problems.

A total of 80 young female participants aged 10-19 years, most of whom come from underprivileged economies, have gone through a selection process of 5000 participants. They have also received design thinking training to create digital solutions to solve women problems they experience. Coding training is a continuation and aims to realize a prototype of their solution in the form of web apps and games which will be presented at Demo Day in October 2022.

Job Description

This is a paid, remote, (flexible hours - estimated up to 116 hours for August - November 2022).

Responsibilities

• Each assistant mentor will be assigned to 2 teams and help them and co-develop to finalize the mentioned output.

• Assisting lead mentor in running workshops.

• Weekly meeting with your assistant

• Additional mentoring activities through discord. Sign up and regularly check messages on discord.

• Provide feedback and assessment of your assigned team to help lead mentors filling reports and scorecards.

• You must review and check students' attendance reports

• You will need to update the scorecard for each participant and make a final scoring report for each student on your team

Qualifications

• You should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in developing and testing apps on Game Development with Unity for medium to large scale applications

• Must have a good understanding of Algorithms & Data Structures

• Fluency and experience with C#

• Familiarity with Cross-platform UI design in Unity

• Good understanding of gaming algorithm/ architecture

• Having the experience to deploy applications

• Experience with developer tools such as Git, GitHub, and Command-Line

• Passion to share knowledge

• Attention to the details

• Good public speaking skill

• Preferred having teaching experience
